True or false? The Spartan army defeated Thebes in 371 B.C?

Other way around. The Theban general Epaminondas defeated Sparta at Leuctra then led an army into Spartan territory to dismantle the Spartan state and free the enslaved helots on whose backs Sparta maintained a professional army.

There is a great book that covers this and two other generals who led armies of liberation: Sherman in the Civil War and Patton in WWII. A real page turner.

The Soul of Battle: From Ancient Times to the Present Day, How Three Great Liberators Vanquished Tyranny by Victor Davis HansonTrue or false? The Spartan army defeated Thebes in 371 B.C?
False, Epaminondas was a brilliant general who found a way for the Thebans to beat the seemingly invincible Spartans. sadly for Thebes, Epaminondas was killed in a battle, and thebes had no other generals of his caliber, so Sparta made up lost ground.True or false? The Spartan army defeated Thebes in 371 B.C?
