A rich man is nothing but a poor man with money.....quote W C Fields..... what do you think true or false?

I say absolutely trueA rich man is nothing but a poor man with money.....quote W C Fields..... what do you think true or false?
Oddly enough, I'm reading (and enjoying) Dickens's ';Little Dorrit';, which shows what happens to people when they have or do not have money, both in terms of their own attitudes and in terms of the attitudes of those around them. Charles Dickens spent some of his childhood in a debtors' prison to which his father was confined and I think that he would have agreed with W C Fields. We can see something of this in our society, where people with limited inner resources suddenly become rich through winning the lottery and don't know what to do with themselves.

But what of the reverse? I've come across poor people who were rich in personality and in spirit and were generous in their dealings with other people-- but they were without money.A rich man is nothing but a poor man with money.....quote W C Fields..... what do you think true or false?
Absolutely true in the material sense only. I've known many people from poor to rich. My experience has been that the ones with the most material wealth were the poorest in terms of happiness. On the other hand, I've known many poor people in the material sense who were extremely happy with an insatiable zest for life.
Absolutely true honey!! I'm editing this answer as I have made a total pants of it!!! Right....a rich man thinks he's rich with the money that he has.. but he has nothing!! He cannot buy friendship, love and all the things that matter in this world. He is rich in wealth, but the most important things, you couldn't put a price on, and they are the things that matter! xxxxxxx
true but so is the quote by Woody Alan

';money is better than poverty but only for financial reasons';

the best money quote i know though is by Evan Esar(1899~1995)

';The mint makes it first~It is up to you to make it last';

enjoy
that is kind of true. But look at it this way. When someone rich in money he does not have God. You can only serve one master. Money or God.
Absolutely correct.

I should know, I brought myself up from nothing to a state of extreme poverty.

Fields also said 'A man who hates children and dogs can't be all bad'.
Obvious really.
very true.
True.

But it depends on what do u mean when u say ';rich';.

It doesn't necessarily need to refer to money. ;)
True for sure....!!
True money can not buy happiness
An actor who never got the fame he deserved!
except he don,t worry about paying the bill
true money is just an object
