If a, b, and c are real numbers, is this statement true or false?

-(-a)=-a

I dont understand this at all.If a, b, and c are real numbers, is this statement true or false?
If you multiply a negative times a negative, it is positive, so this is false. If a, b, and c are real numbers, is this statement true or false?
False. For example if a=2 then it is -(-2)=2, not -2 like your statement says. And if a=-2 then it is -(-(-2))=-(2)=-2, not 2 like your statement would say.
