D&C and false pregnancy readings?

I had a miscarriage and a D%26amp;C five weeks ago and now we have a positive pregnancy test. The line is very faint though. Could this be a false reading? Directed at people who have had a D%26amp;C before.D%26amp;C and false pregnancy readings?

go see your dr tho as you may also have something left behind from the D%26amp;C causing your body to be producing the pregnancy hormone.

Congrats! I never heard of a false positive. I am sure you used a reliable test, so you need to take better care of yourself than ever before. I lost my first baby and had a D%26amp;C. That was August 1980 and my daughter was born June 27, 1981. I believe I got pregnant around five-six weeks after the miscarriage. I did have a couple issues with her and had to really slow down but I now have a beautiful daughter who is teaching school in Hawaii!


More than anything you have to believe that you will bring this baby to term. Please no heavy lifting or anything strenuous. Exercise, do what you feel like just don't push it. Give this baby plenty of time to attach firmly to you so the proper amount of nourishment will be readily available.

I know it sounds strange to you now but find comfort in knowing that one day you will talk to someone that has lost their first baby and in some small way you will understand in part that ';feeling'; that they are experiencing that others don't understand. My sister had a misscarriage and also had a D%26amp;C done and 2 months later she found out that she was pregnant. Now her doctor told her that depending on the age of the fetus depends on how long it will take for the HCG to lower its self back down to a .5, I would recheck in a month with a home test or just go to the doctors and have them do an ultrasound and see if your pregnant.
I know my friend was told that within 2 wks after a completed miscarriage (with or without a D%26amp;C) HCG levels go back down to normal so if you are getting a positive after 5 wks there is a possibitity it is a real positive
I concieved my son 6 weeks after miscarriage/D%26amp;C. It's more likely you are pregnant, than not. I'd wait a week and test again...if that one is positive too...I'd schedule an appointment.
hey i had m/c and d%26amp;c on 4th june and i got pregnant 3 weeks after it im 5w5d so it is very possible that your pregnant too goodluck !!
