It is, and it's called the distributive property.





Think about it 2*(7-5) = 2*2 = 4 = 14-10 = 2*7-2*5
this equation is true because you would multiply the 2 by both b and negative c to get 2b-2c
It's true. Technically, it's an identity, not an equation
2(b - c)


= 2*b - 2*c


= 2b - 2c
